Surrounding Wales on three sides is over 750 miles of coastline, including the Pembrokeshire National Park, the only coastal national park in the UK. There are beautiful bays, picturesque harbours, unspoilt peninsulas, wind-swept cliffs and award-winning beaches like Barafundle, which was named in the Good Holiday Guides top 12 international beaches.
Places to Go
A good place to visit is Swansea Bay and the Gower peninsula, which was the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Beauty. The peninsula offers great surfing and, when the surf isn’t firing, visit Swansea Maritime Quarter, or just along the coast you'll find Tenby and Saundersfoot, St Davids (Whitesands Bay) and Skomer Island in Pembrokeshire.
Nightlife
Ten pubs stretched along the Mumbles sea front form a popular pub crawl venue. It’s known as the Mumbles Mile, although not everyone manages to walk that far. Tenby offers plenty of places to eat and drink, or for a busier night out head for Wind Street in Swansea and a huge variety of pubs, clubs and restaurants.
Accommodation
Caerhafod Lodge is a stone's throw from the coastal path and other inexpensive options are YHA Hostels and the Preseli Venture 5 star eco lodge accommodation. If you’d prefer to stay in a hotel, try the Heywood Mount Hotel or the luxury St Brides Hotel.
