Green Man Festival – August 19-21

Green Man is a contemporary festival of music and arts held at Glanusk Park, Crickhowell. Visitors can enjoy additional entertainment as well as the main stage, which always has some great acts in the ‘line-up’, there are delicious food stall and bar areas. Camping facilities available –you can even ‘rent-a-tent’. Tickets for 2011 go on sale November 1st 2010.

Merthyr Rocks - 4 September 2011

Merthyr Rock will be the festival that gives South Wales the occasion to match it's legendary musical heritage. The team responsible for Hay Festivals internationally will work with the local community and the best music promoters in South Wales to bring a world-class festival to Merthyr Tydfil. A late summer event in the heart of post-industrial Wales showcasing internationally acclaimed acts alongside the cream of up-and-coming talent from Britain’s vibrant music scene. This will be an event that is affordable and accessible to all; involving the community and giving an enormous boost to the local area.

Iron Man, Wales – September 11

Ironman Wales - a triathlon, for both women and men, taking place in the county of Pembrokeshire in the southwest of Wales, amongst over 35 conservation areas, 180 miles of coastal park, surrounded by 50 castles. Spectators can experience the excitement of such a challenging event watching the athletes whilst absorbing the picturesque surroundings of the Pembrokeshire coast.

Tour of Britain – September 11-18

The Tour of Britain is a highlight on the cycling calendar for top international cyclists and enthusiasts from around the world with over one million spectators watching at the roadside across the eight day event. Full details of the 2011 route and the locations of individual stages will be announced at the National launch in the spring but Wales’s stage is tipped to be an exciting one.

Abergavenny Food Festival – September 15 – 16

The Abergavenny Food Festival is the most magical of culinary experiences, conjuring a feast of plenty amidst the streets of this small Welsh borders market town. There’s an array of over eighty events to choose from - a galaxy of top talent in a line-up of Master classes, tutored tastings, talks and debates.

Commonwealth Mountain and Ultradistance Running Championship – September 23 – 25

The 2nd Commonwealth Mountain and Ultradistance Running Championships will be hosted in three spectacular north-west Wales locations - Llandudno, Llanberis (Snowdon) and Newborough Forest, Anglesey. The combined events of mountain races (Up & Down), ultra-distance races (24 hr event) and trail running (50+km off road) for both men and women will produce a long weekend international festival of running.

Lloyds TSB Cardiff Half Marathon – October 16

2010's sell-out race saw a record number of runners taking part, with over 15,000 entering the biggest road race in Wales. The course is flat and fast with amazing scenery. It’s the perfect opportunity to achieve your personal best! AND you’ll be doing your bit for charity so a good cause.

Sprit of Llangollen – October

The new “Spirit of Llangollen” events will see some of the best international competitors from the Eisteddfod perform across Wales, a new Choir of the Decade contest: ‘Voices Pavarotti’ (to be held in October at a venue in Cardiff), and a Music and Peace Conference with world-renowned speakers – which will build on the success of the Choir of the World competition at Llangollen.
