Wales is ideal for canoeing and kayaking. Whether you want a relaxing day on the river exploring, the surf and swells of the sea or the adrenalin rush of white water, you’ll find it all here.

What you get:

Expert tuition at some of the best-established paddle sport centres in Britain. All your gear will be provided, and whether you decide to kayak, canoe or raft it will take less than a day to have the basics wired. Instruction is in small groups but one-to-one tuition can often be arranged at a premium.

2 day course – Around £100 inc equipment.

When?

Obviously summer and autumn are the warmest months but all these sports can be done year-round - and for more excitement on the rivers, wait until there's been a bit of rain to liven things up.

Sea and surf kayaking - Pembrokeshire, Gower Peninsula and North Wales
River kayaking - the Conwy, Tryweryn, Dee, Usk, Wye
Canoeing - Teifi Estuary, Cleddau Estuary, Llyn Gwynant, Lake Bala, Brecon Canal, Langorse Lake
Rafting - River Tryweryn, River Dee
