Enjoy some off road cycling in the stunning National Park. There are smooth trails for beginners like the Mawddach trail. Or you can try the long challenging climbs of the Gwydir Trail that weave through the forests.

If you don’t mind getting soaking wet then river rafting at Tryweryn is just the thing for you. Adrenalin charged, get into your raft and off you go down the steep and rocky mountain river.





Llyn Tegid

The lake which is Wales’ largest natural lake is excellent for coarse fishing. Try catching a pike, perch, roach, grayling or even the rare gwyniad. This protected species is believed to have been imprisoned here when the lake was formed during the last Ice Age, 10,000 years ago.

Mountain biking Mecca. Head for Coed y Brenin or Betws y Coed if tough terrain and steep inclines appeal, the mud factor is pretty high too. Need we say any more?





The Mawddach Trail

Considered to be one of the best trails in the UK, this fantastic traffic-free trail follows the beautiful Mawddach Estuary in the Southern end of the Snowdonia National Park. When walking you will see spectacular views and it’s great for bird watching too.

There are many different types of walk, from a low-level stroll to a high pass scramble. Snowdon, the Glyders, and the Carneddau are reputed for their trails. Solid footwear and all weather gear are well advised.



The Cantilever Stone

Climb Glyder Fach and just below the summit get your photo taken on the famous Cantilever Stone. The large flat rock appears to be precariously balanced from the correct angle. Nearby you will also see the spiky rock formations of Castell y Gwynt.




Geocaching

Geocaching is a treasure hunt with a high-tech twist played by adventure seekers armed with GPS devices. The aim is to track and locate the hidden geocaches. Try it at Coed y Brenin.





Horse Riding

Saddle up and head out on the bridle ways. See the bleak landscape of the foothills of Snowdon or head to the countryside of Penmachno and the tranquil vale of Maentwrog. Tuition and facilities offered to all levels.




Walk to see the Waterfalls

Follow the Dôl Goch trail through the beautiful woodland and onto the waterfalls. On the woodland path you will see interesting plants like heather, blackthorn, hazel and the rare wych elm.
