Climb at the Welsh International Indoor Climbing Centre
Come and scale the heights of some of Europe 's premier indoor climbing walls. The centre offers a full range of outdoor pursuits too. You'll also find a full range of leisure facilities, including a fitness suite, bar and restaurant.
Sail on the Llandegfedd Reservoir
Head North of Newport for Sailing, Windsurfing, Canoeing, the odd of spot Fishing and the chance to unwind. Set in a country park, hire is available from the sailing club and school on site.
Cycle the Celtic Trail
Looking for a challenge? Take the high level route. The disused railways, canals and tramways from the Valley' industrial past are being transformed into a cycle network, offering large stretches of traffic free cycling.
Gorge Walking in Waterfall Country
The southern fringe of the Brecon Beacons is better known as Waterfall Country. This long belt of lime stone has created a highly distinctive landscape of wooded gorges, caves, swallow holes and waterfalls.
Tour the Valleys on Horseback
Saddle up at centres like Greemeadow and Dare Valley Country Park . There's a network of bridleways through Torfaen taking you through forest and across mountain top to Blaenavon a World Heritage Site.
Iron Mountain Trail
A circular walk that can either be treated separately or combined with part two, to make a full 18km. The circuit tours the major sites of the Blaenavon Industrial Landscape World Heritage Site and follows former tramways.
Walk the Taff Trail
From the heart of Cardiff bay to the head of the valleys. The 55 mile Taff trail starts in Cardiff Bay and weaves its way up to Brecon. Passing through a wide variety of urban and suburban landscapes, you can explore on bike or foot.
Mountain Biking
One of Wales 'hidden gems' on the downhill trail. 15km of singletrack will put all of test your skills to the test: Steep climb followed by an immense swooping decent. The trail is free and can be ridden all year.
Fishing
At the Tri Nant Trout Farm, Llantrisant, there are no less that four lakes, covering 5 acres, stocked daily with rainbow trout. When you’ve reeled them in you can enjoy a pint and a meal at The Countryman Inn overlooking the lakes.
