Anglesey Oyster Festival - 9-10 October 2010
Oysters, are very much the 'marmite' of the sea world. If you love them or hate them, you can't do wrong than to head to Anglesey for their annual Oyster Festival. Don't be fooled, it's not all about oysters. It's a celebration of food, with demonstrations, food stalls and a black tie Gala Dinner. There's also the 'Annual Sausage Competition', whereby local butchers compete for the title of tastiest banger. See who can knock The Valley Butchers' Moroccan lamb sausage off top spot this year.
You can guarantee the freshness of the seafood as it doesn't have to travel far. The festival takes place on the Trearddur Bay coast, overlooking the Irish Sea. So there's no excuse not to walk off all you've eaten with a brisk walk along the coastal path.
